Ron DePuy is an accomplished music instructor with over 30 years of experience in teaching private and group lessons in guitar, piano, bass, songwriting, theory, and improvisation. He wholeheartedly believes that students flourish where creativity drives learning.
Throughout the years, he has created a method of instruction that takes a holistic approach in the development of each student, instilling the disciplines of note reading, music theory, and proper technique while emphasizing the importance of ear training, improvisational playing, and building creative confidence.
Prior to moving to San Diego in May 2001 to begin his career as a full time church music director, Ron DePuy co-owned and operated a music school with his wife in Portland, Oregon, employing 17 music teachers and instructing over 600 students. During this entrepreneurial season of life, he served the school as lead instructor, mentoring teachers, developing curriculum, and teaching 80 students per week.
Ron continued to teach throughout his full time ministry years and has now returned his full time attention once again to teaching and mentorship. Ron currently teaches in his spacious San Diego(Tierrasanta area) home studio/recital room. Ron offers both private and group lessons and specializes in meeting the music instruction needs of the San Diego homeschooling community.
